Success!
I have taught piano for over 30 years in Australia and USA. Students progress rapidly under my accelerated learning program, and are successful in competitions and public performance.
I have developed an online self-teaching program that teaches young students how to read and write music effectively.

Ian taught our two daughters during their middle and high school years. Amazingly, they progressed more in one year under Ian's tutelage than they had in the previous nine years with other instructors! I cannot say enough about Ian's abilities, his kind demeanor, his encouragement of and expectations for his students. Our family has been blessed by Ian's skills; our daughters especially. They now have a skill they, and many others, will be able to enjoy for the rest of their lives! Thank you Ian! You are a blessing!

Question and answer
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My students excel quickly under an accelerated learning program that suits all students. The reach high levels of proficiency early, they enjoy the results, and continue to excel under their own enthusiasm.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Getting results. Achievement. This is what students need to create enthusiasm. It is what parents need to see to know their tuition is well spent.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. "What's your hourly rate?"
Answer: "It is not the hourly rate that's important. What is important is how long does it take to get excellent results. In other words, the true cost is the hourly rate plus the number of lessons needed to get to a particular point. Always take the road with the shortest time - it will save money in the end."
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. There are many piano teachers who do not have the understanding of physiology to teach children proper technique. The outcome is devastating for students who cannot play pieces of even moderate complexity.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. I have created an online program - "Ian Hodge's Read, Write & Play Music" that teaches students how to read and write music - their own compositions. This speeds up the learning process, helps reduce the time it takes to get the student to the highest levels.
