Here is an update on a past review I wrote about this company in regards to their service (I had given them a one star rating). The owner of the company reached out immediately and settled our misunderstandings in a satisfactory manner. They have now finished our website and it looks great. I am convinced that it will be very easy for our clients to navigate and most importantly, they created an effective website that will attract clients to help motivate them to trade their dollars for our services. In other words, it is designed with marketability in mind. This company's professionalism did come through with flying colors and solved our misunderstandings in a prompt manner. I am not going to give them a 5 star rating only because of the misunderstandings we had. However, they pulled through in the end and we are now definitely satisfied. My recommendation to other small businesses would be to seriously consider checking out what this company has to offer and make them a contender for your marketing dollars.

When we came to Motor City Mobility, the Chamber completely lacked a digital presence. Keeping our Members up-to date on events and news meant sending out emails, a lot of emails. In order for us to better serve our Members and market ourselves, we turned to MCM for their digital expertise. They took an in-depth look at our business processes and built a website that we could easily integrate into our workflow. Now, our staff manages adding new Members, updating business information, posting news articles and announcing events in one central, easy-to-use system. MCM educated us on how a website could save us time and money on administrative tasks and increase visibility for our Members. We went from saying What do we do (with digital)? to What can we do next?! When looking at updating our website and overall internet presence we wanted a fresh start and some forward thinking. We got both and then some when we started working with Cam and Motor City Mobility. From the very first meeting Cam got a feel for what we were looking for and lead us right to our goal. We now have a fresh look that is unprecedented in our industry. The website is built on a platform that gives us the level of control we were hoping for and provides great groundwork for us to build on as we grow. It is really something that beat all our expectations. I can't say enough about the tools that Cam used to get us to where we wanted to be. Starting out, we were uncertain if the Discovery investment would be financially beneficial to EHM. We were in desperate need of a “face lift” in terms of our website design and content, and the Discovery process enabled us to think outside-the-box and communicate on each employee’s ideas, strategies and recommendations — which any company would benefit from. Our restaurant client's original website suffered from performance and usability issues, was not able to updated by our team, and didn’t match the look and feel of our restaurant. Motor City Mobility designed us a much more user friendly website. It loads quickly, is easy to manage and has some pretty cool functionality; my favorite being the featured dish widget on the homepage that changes based on time of day. We had a great experience working with MCM and Cam Cecchini. He was great at listening to what we needed and wanted for our new website and then giving us options based on his knowledge and expertise. He did a great job of guiding the project, keeping us up-to-date and showing us how to use everything.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Motor City Mobility began as a final project for an Entrepreneurship class at Wayne State near the end of 2011. It started by challenging the belief that mobile applications were the ideal solution for local businesses to reach their increasingly more mobile customers. We continue to challenge the status-quo today.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We try to focus our efforts on servicing local Metro Detroit businesses but we always take projects that are interesting and exciting to us, and in the past that has included businesses from Mexico, Florida, New Jersey and Italy.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One specific example of how our services impacted a local business far beyond the projectâs initial scope is with a local, pet-waste removal company, Doggie Scoops. After being referred by a previous client, the owner of Doggie Scoops contacted us with interest in having their website redesigned. Half way through our initial meeting we unsurfaced a pain point that had seemingly no connection to their website plans. Uncollected payments. Due to various reasons, they were having a difficult time collecting payments on services already provided. We solved this unrelated problem by creating a simple PayPal payment form on their website, enabling their customers to pay invoices at anytime and from the device of their choice. Doggie Scoops now collects payments, on-time, on 50% of their invoices through the website. Due to the grunt of the work being handled by PayPal, the system requires little to no maintenance on the clientâs end, saving them both time and money.
