Hi! I provide in-home personal chef services, in-home small event catering services (think showers, dinner parties, ladies nights, birthday parties, and retirement parties), and cooking classes. Though I cook anything you like, I have a background in vegetarian, vegan, raw vegan, gluten-free, and other restricted diet.

I believe in using the freshest, most local ingredients possible to bring affordable, real food to your table. If you add up what you spend each month on groceries, restaurants, tips, takeout, fast food, etc. (not to mention the time you spend shopping, preparing food or waiting at restaurants), the prices are comparable.

Contact me to set up a no-obligation meeting where we can discuss your needs, and I can explain my services further.

Check out my website for general pricing and further info.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Kirsten

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. One of the things that makes me different is my willingness to do the homework it takes to help those with restricted diets -- whether that means simply vegetarian, or those who are diabetic, gluten-free or going through cancer treatment. It's overwhelming for those clients -- and it can be overwhelming to me! -- but I'm so happy to do the research and help my clients eat the most beneficial way for their scenario.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love helping my clients eat healthier, whole foods from scratch (no matter what kind of diet they have). It makes me very happy to see them make the switch from fast food, takeout and frozen pizzas to more healthful foods made from whole ingredients.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We are flexible and want to make sure the people we are serving are happy -- part of being a personal chef is truly making it PERSONAL. Exactly what the customer wants and needs. Anything's possible and I will do my best to create the meal plan, diet, party or class you want. I'll always have options for you and I'll be upfront and honest if you are looking for something that I'm unfamiliar with or don't have the most experience executing. Of course, I'm always open to learn new things and try to accommodate any requests!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. It started with a love of food. I was joined to my mother's hip in the kitchen from a very young age. (There's even a photo of me around 3 years old covered in flour on my website). I made a career change a couple of years ago and knew I wanted to do something with food. I felt like I could really make a difference and help busy people eat how they want and what they want, hopefully in a healthier way by becoming a personal chef versus entering the restaurant world, so that's the route I went. I definitely feel I chose wisely.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I'm willing to try anything! I will try to tackle whatever a client needs or wants, whether that means finding a recipe just like grandma used to make, helping with a restricted diet or finding recipes based around a favorite ingredient. That being said, I won't try to tackle anything I don't think I can do and won't ever mislead a client into thinking I have experience doing anything I don't.
