Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. My most common types of jobs are. Home router setup. Your home network maybe the most important part of your home office, I can make things run and work together. and Home Theatre setup. There is nothing better then the complete home movie experience.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Make sure your getting what you pay for. Just because they may know more about a subject then you do, doesn't give them the right to take all your money for it.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The problem solving, there is nothing better then fixing what was wrong even if what was wrong was very difficult to fix.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. My most common question is "My internet is slow, why ?" My response is simple do you have a wireless router and is it secure. Most people don't know that an unsecured network can be used be others not even in your home. The more people on your network the slower the connection. Unless your talking about large companies or colleges for example. Their networks are made for many users.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Once while setting up a home surround sound system, I had a bit of a problem. Everything was working great , I had left the room and when I came back I noticed a speaker cable out of place. I got behind the audio receiver and moved the wire back. Once the receiver was back in place I wanted to make sure everything was still in working order. Only now.....Nothing no volume at all. After an hour or re-wiring, sweating and a few choice words. I noticed that someone had put a headphone adapter in the headphone jack causing the volume to disappear. It was a lesson that not everything is as hard as it looks and sometime the answer is right under your nose
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. After years of helping my family, friends, and their family with all their technology needs. A close friend asked me why didn't think about doing this for a living. To be honest I never even thought about it. Two weeks later I ordered my business cards and had my first client.
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. The one thing for sure about technology is that it changes.... daily. So I have to do my homework and make sure the device or how a device is setup or fixed is also up to date.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. My most resent Job was for a Mother and her family. I setup a laptop that she had received as a present with a Virus protector, Email Client, Web Browser, Calendar, and Music Software. I installed a wireless router with security, and a printer in the home. Made sure the desktop computer could connect to the internet. And connected the kids XBOX 360 wirelessly to the home network.
Took about 2.5 Hrs Paid $130.00
Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.
