We offer custom on-location and studio portraits, specializing in maternity, newborns, babies and children.

If you’ve ever had a less-than-enjoyable experience at one of the chain photography studios, then you can appreciate what custom photography will offer you.

We will patiently work with your family in a casual environment to capture your children as they are, naturally.

We will allow time for diaper changes, snack or just a little break, if needed.

We want to document your family as they are, and provide you with beautiful art that will decorate your home for years to come.

We am located north of Ann Arbor, west of Metro Detroit, and I am within minutes of I-96. I offer on-location and in-studio portraits.

We are also affiliate photographers for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, as well as members of WPPI and PPA.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If someone is looking for a personal touch to their photography session, and is trying to avoid a 'cookie cutter' format of the big chain studios, I would be a great fit. Being a mom, with kids of my own, gives me an advantage over teenagers working at the studio in the mall.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Clothes are VERY important. Don't be too matchy-matchy with the family's clothing choices. Instead, wear coordinating colors that work well with everyone's skin tones. For example, if you all look great in jewel tones, stick with that. Small prints are better than large prints. Stay away from text on shirts/large graphics, and definitely bring snacks/drinks if you have small children.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How did you learn your craft? What would YOU say makes a photographer successful? What can I expect at my custom portrait session? What if we need to take a break? Do you allow clothing changes?

Testimonials

  • August 12, 2011

We've had Christina take our family's Christmas photos, do my maternity photos and do our daughter's newborn photos. They all turned out just fantastic! The newborn photos are especially darling -- I've had people tell me, "They look just like Anne Geddes pictures!" At first I was kind of hesitant to pay higher prices than we had been at a well-known chain, but we were so sick of the cattle-call atmosphere there every Christmas season that we decided it would be worth it. Not only did we have a MUCH more fun time with way less stress, but we got way better photos, as well!
