FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My sister-in-law hired a DJ for her wedding reception. 2 weeks prior to her reception, the DJ called and told her he was moving out-of-state and would not be able to DJ her reception. I told my wife that as a gift, I would purchase some equipment and provide the music and some lighting for her at her reception. I have never looked back and with contiuous investment the business has grown tremendously since then.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure a provider like myself is Insured. Most rental halls require that contractors have Liability insurance. It would be very unfortunate to book a DJ and then find out the day of your reception that that the rental hall will not allow them to play as they lack the proper insurance. Also, ask to meet with the DJ at least 1 time to go over any details in person about your party. Ask the DJ what his contingency plans might be if he has a major equipment failure. Great/Reliable DJ's will carry back-up equipment for just-in-case scenarios. This is your special occassion, there should be NO SURPRISES.
