FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The initial consultation is FREE! During this 30-60 minute meeting, we will get to know each other, discuss your student's needs, talk about how the tutoring works, and answer all of your questions. If we decide to continue, the sessions are $25 for 1/2 hour or $50 for one hour session. Depending on your needs, I can meet with your student 1 -4 times per week. You may choose to pay weekly or monthly using Venmo or Paypal.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a FREE 30-60 minute consultation to get to know each other, discuss what difficulties your child is having, talk about how the tutoring sessions work, and answer any other questions you may have. If we decide to continue working together, the first thing I do is a comprehensive assessment of their math skills to see specifically where the gaps in their learning are. That assessment will take one to two hours to complete. I will share a detailed report with you and discuss when and how often we would like to meet for tutoring with your child.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and I am a certified K-5 teacher in Michigan for all subjects, with an added credential for teaching math for 6th-8th grade students. I have been in the education field for over 25 years. I have been a classroom teacher in public school and in a private Montessori school. I also homeschooled my two children from kindergarten through 8th grade. Most recently, I completed a 10 week masterclass for online tutors where I learned about a lot of the different tools that are available online for working with children and how to use them effectively.
