Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Best advice I could give would be go with your gut, if you get an akward feeling from a contractor, move on. Don't be afraid to ask for references and projects completed in your area. Talk to their previous customers, they'll help you decide who is the best candidate to complete your gravel project.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Know the difference between a guy with a tractor and the grading professional with the proper grading equipment for the best results for your investment. One secret is surface prep, before you can add new gravel the base should be graded and compacted. It does make a difference.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. One question to ask a potential gravel contractor is do you compact the final grade with a vibrating steel roller? That compaction makes all the difference in the world.
