Introduction: Kristin is a professional Makeup Artist who has been working in the industry for over 10 years. Born and raised in Michigan, she continues to reside and work in the Metro Detroit area, as well as all throughout Michigan, North America and beyond. Kristin knew from a very young age that she wanted to pursue a career in the world of art and creativity. She fell in love with the idea of working in Makeup by admiring the works of many talented film Makeup Artists as well as Old Hollywood fashion moguls. It was then that she knew she would follow her dreams and passions to have a career in the world of Makeup. Soon after graduating High School, Kristin went on to attend Make-Up Designory (MUD) in Burbank, CA. She had extensive training from elite educators to learn everything from Beauty Makeup to Special FX Makeup and everything in between. After completing her training, Kristin immediately went on to work with many production companies for both Film and Fashion as well as being an educator and freelancer for Dior, Chanel, Hourglass Cosmetics and Aveda. Kristin has been working steadily in the industry ever since and continues to learn and grow in her career to stay on top of her skills and creativity as well as keeping on top of sanitation guidelines. While she continues to work in most areas of the industry such as Bridal, Editorial, Special Events, Private Clientele, etc., her primary focus over the last few years has been in Film and Commercial work. I worked with Kristin for a commercial shoot, and she was very professional. She kept in contact with me to confirm time and location, and she showed up early. I also appreciate that she was very accommodating for the actors we used. She was knowledgeable about lighting and seating. Kristin helped make our film shoot a smooth and enjoyable process, and I intend to work with her again soon.

Kristin did an amazing job. She did my hair and make-up for my wedding. I decided to use the trial run for my engagement pictures a year before the wedding, so for my engagement photos and wedding I had a completely different hair and make-up style, but she did both of them perfectly and it was exactly what I wanted. She was also very nice and gentle and put me completely at ease, my experience with her was the least stressful and most relaxing of my entire wedding day. She left me with some extra materials in case I would need any touch ups throughout the night (which I didn't, my hair stayed in tact the entire night and my make-up was almost still completely there the next morning) She was really fairly priced and I would recommend her to anyone that wants to look beautiful for a special event.

Kristen was very professional from beginning to end. She contacted me right away and was very quick to respond to my messages. She offered to come to my house before the photo shoot since since she was not available to come to the actual location. Very happy I hired her.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly continuing education with make-up and business related classes. It is especially important in these times to stay up to date with sanitation certifications and safety protocols as well. They are always showcasing new products coming out along with new tricks and tips! The one thing about this industry is that you can never stop learning because there are always new trends coming out every season and new products to be used!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
ever since i was little i was always very artistic and loved anything that included art, makeup and fashion! i knew that i either wanted to be a makeup artist or a fashion designer, but once i started learning more about the film and fashion industry i knew that was where i belong! i love doing special fx for film work and i love doing crazy avante garde work for photoshoots and fashion shows! Anything that includes you to step out of the box and your comfort zone makes it so much fun! I love doing bridal work also because it is such an exciting day for the bride and i love excentuating their true beauty!

The most common jobs I do are bridal, film, fashion and commercial.
