FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We use a laptop to price all the componentry and construction steps your specific project will require. In this way, we do not throw around "ballparks" that merely confuse and frustrate all concerned opting instead to give specific pricing for the tasks and materials you need to make your dream a reality. We are mindful you may not get the exact description right the first attempt and so we dialog with you and compare various materials, sizes, approaches, options until you are comfortable with the room design and the budget. We don't pressure people to buy but instead consider ourselves more of your addition consultant. We carry many manufacturer's rooms and can build a room conventionally as well; therefore we don't feel the need to push one style or make or size upon you to "get a sale."
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, several of us take ongoing industry specific classes and even some online classes. We read trade magazines and do research on a project by project basis. We learn when handling new projects and on the job; and we participate with others in our specific industry, through our manufacturing partners, and in broader remodeling circles in what are known as peer groups, remodeling councils, etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Most of us at Michigan Sunrooms have worked in some other industries and were drawn to construction for the tangible nature, helping others, due to skills, or because we like the field. Betty in Royal Oak was an architecture graduate seeking some residential experience but obviously went to school for design and architecture. It varies, but mainly we all liked the hands on, creating something tangible nature versus say selling say insurance, baking, babysitting, manufacturing, auditing, etc. Everyone here likes to see the start to finish progress.
