I am a DONA certified birth doula and a Lamaze certified childbirth educator, serving Michigan's southeast Oakland and south Macomb counties.
As a birth doula, I accompany women in labor to help ensure a satisfying birth experience. I have been trained and certified by DONA International. I draw on my professional training, knowledge, and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort, and if needed, facilitate communication with your birth team to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor.
I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort.
In my natural childbirth classes, I will help you and your birth partner prepare for the marathon of labor. Class sizes are intentionally kept small (usually 3 to 4 couples), so your individual needs will be met. Because I am independent and not affiliated with any particular doctor or hospital, I can discuss your questions and concerns openly.
