Whether you come to us for Lessons, Day Camps, Trail Rides, Pony Leads or horse-drawn Wagon Rides, our horses and ponies are well trained and our staff is knowledgeable and passionate about what we do! A. We love horses and we love to share our horses with you! There aren't too many places where people can go to have hands-on contact with horses anymore and Bunker Park Stable is pleased to still offer this opportunity. Horses require consistent, respectful hands-on work and training; our staff knows and understands each of them - which horse is best suited for which job...not all horses are great at everything! Because we love what we do and we love our horses, we make sure they're in the right job so they love it, too!
A. Of course, a consumer should ask questions about the business, including staff training and certification; horse care; and safety record. We've been at this since 1995! Our staff is trained and certified for the activities they lead, whether it's lessons, trail riding, driving a wagon, or special education services which include therapeutic horseback riding and Special Olympics. Safety is our top priority - we look out for you and we have an impressive safety record! Bunker Park Stable has been evaluated and is certified by the Minnesota Horse Council. A certified stable has concern for the care of the horse and keeps their facility up to the Certified Stable Program standard. We are proud of our facilities and we constantly work to maintain high standards. We are also a proud member of the Minnesota Stable Owners Association which seeks: to improve conditions for equine businesses in Minnesota, to enable grassroots participation in public policy, and to educate about the importance of horses in agriculture.
A. We are always happy to answer questions by phone or by email. Beyond that, we have gone to great lengths to make sure our website is loaded with complete information and details ... we have a terrific FAQ page! If a customer takes a few minutes to search our site, our phone and reservation time can be done quickly and they can get on with their day.
A. Bunker Park Stable has an impressive safety record! Careful steps are taken each day, on each trail and in each lesson, to ensure customer safety.
In addition...we're creative and can come up with almost any type of horse experience you want.
A. BPS is proud to offer a range of special education programs, so people living with disabilities can experience horses. There is lots of magic...but this is one of my favorite stories which illustrates the g o o d that can happen when you combine a horse and a special needs client:
We used Oso, an Appaloosa, for a lesson yesterday, because that client loves Appaloosas. Oso isn't very old, but he has a good heart; so good, that even though he was worried with the sound of snow sliding off the arena roof, all he did was open his eyes r e a l l y wide and put his head up a bit - he never jumped or moved his feet. After their half-hour walk, which is all they do, the gentleman client turned to Oso and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
