Stacey has put together a music program of such high caliber I am still delighted and surprised even after my son's year and a half of involvement. He loves every minute of it and has grown exponentially in MANY ways because of School of Rock's rich program. He feels supported and appreciated, but also challenged. He has happily worked his tail off since he started SOR, learned so much musically, socially, and organizationally - and I attribute it all to the excellent, committed staff Stacey has brought on board and the care they all genuinely show for their students. I recommend School of Rock to everyone I know; it might very well be the best thing that has ever "happened to" my son. What's even better is that it has transformed him into someone who knows he can make great things happen.

This is best music opportunity for children interested in rock and roll. Our kids have been at the School of Rock for over 4 years and the rewards to them have been many. They have received excellent instruction in guitar, drums, bass, vocals, and on-stage performance and as well as attended many of the free workshops and fun get-togethers the school organizes. Most valuable however, is the weekly experience collaborating with the other students in band rehearsals. They truly feel like they're part of a rock band and need no other incentive than this to practice each day. The instructors and show directors have high expectations of all students. Students who work hard are offered additional opportunities to participate and improve. As for Stacey herself, we truly believe that it is her open, positive attitude that has created such a supportive, successful environment for the students, parents and staff.

Stacey not only hires quality people, she knows how to keep them inspired to do their best work. My sons attend the School of Rock and have grown as individuals and musicians immensely. I attribute that chiefly to Stacey's expectation that everyone involved with the school will be treated with respect, celebrated for who they are as people, and in turn they will do the same. As important, Stacey clearly cares about young people and providing opportunities for them to discover and nurture their love for music. One need look no further than her decision to establish a scholarship fund so that no kid gets turned away for financial reasons. Absolutely the best.

Stacey is an individual that cares about what she is doing. It's very obvious she cares about customers and their experiences, not just the bottom line.

My son has been going to School of Rock at their Eden Prairie and Burnsville locations for almost five years. He started when he was 8 years years old and very much a beginning guitar player. His skills on the guitar sky rocketed with the combination of lessons and playing in show rehearsals with other kids. He now plays drums as well. I can't say enough good things about the the entire staff at School of Rock. From the location managers to the teachers to the show directors. Everyone has been kind and respectful to myself and more importantly, my son. Great work guys!

Thanks Clay! We love working with your son too. He rocks.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We improve kids self esteem and confidence through fun, rock music lessons. We teach guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals for kids 7 -18 years old. At the end of each season our students perform two live rock concerts in real rock venues. We generally have about 300 people to perform for.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask whether the music teacher is an employee or an independent contractor. If it's an independent contractor, then that is who you are doing business with - no matter WHERE the lessons are taught. Ask if the teacher has undergone a background check. Ask how long the teacher has been teaching. Degrees in music are GREAT but teaching experience is important too. Just because someone can play doesn't mean they can teach. Ask the teacher what kind of music they personally like. If it isn't the type of music your child wants to learn - keep looking. Yes, anyone CAN teach any genre, but there's a true connection between student and teacher when they both have a passion for the same music.
