We provide in-home pet care services, such as pet sitting and/or boarding, avian grooming and basic canine and feline grooming; specializing in parrots. All other pets are cared for as well.

As an involved and respected business in the avian community, we will properly and professionally care for your parrot or other pet. I personally own 3 cats and 10 parrots. I know how special these creatures are. I am certified by The Red Cross in pet first aid.

TPN is well qualified to answer many avian health, behavior or nutrition questions; if we can't answer your question, we can forward you to someone who can.

Our boarding services are in my home. Your feathered or furred family members are included in all our family activities. Before booking your pets stay, you are welcome to come to my home to meet me and see where your pets will be staying. Just as I would never leave my beloved feathered and furred family with someone I did not know, I dont expect you to either. It is our mission to be sure you can leave and be assured that your pets are happy and well cared for and loved.

The Pet Nannies is bonded and insured. TPN offers references at your request. It is a member of The Professional Pet Sitters of Minnesota and The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters. I have held the position of Membership Director for The Minnesota Companion Bird Association as well as 2009 President. The Pet Nannies is a member of The Better Business Bureau.

We have used Juli's Pet Nannie services since last June. She has consistently provided excellent care and love for our two small dogs. They start getting excited when we get within a half mile of her place. They drag us inside with their tails wagging. This is a world of difference from other boarding and daycare options we have tried.

Juli is a wonderful and reliable pet sitter. She treats our animals as if they were her own. Whenever we return from a trip they all appear to be very content and well cared for. Also she has an expertise in parrots and can care for any breed type extremely well. Juli is a gifted and caring pet sitter that we highly recommend. We have three dogs and three parrots (and she never forgets our two goldfish as well!)

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My professional advise is to be sure to meet them in person and see the environment your pets will be care for in.

Use your "heart" when deciding on a care facility. If you have even the slightest hesitance to leave them in the persons care; keep looking. You will know when the person and facility is suitable for your pet.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Be sure your pets personality and attitude fits with those of the facility. Not all facilities will be suitable for say, a large, energetic dog; or an older dog that just wants to sleep and be left alone.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I tend to be a "giver". I always give my clients 110% of me and my resources.

I quite often send the dogs home with a bath, or sweater or leave a few new toys behind at in-home care.

If I visit a client and they don't have something; I will pick it up for them at no charge. (of course this drives my business manager nuts).

By this it is obvious my profits are lessened; but if I can make the stress of mom and dad being gone; it is worth it to me. The pets welfare is my number one concern.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I LOVE the fact that I can act as a temporary pet parent to my clients when mom and dad are away. I love watching them play, sleep or just relate with everyone else.

I feel satisfaction when a client first comes to me and is shy and skiddish; and after a while hhas blossomed socially and emotionally.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I take reputable on-line classes and keep current on recent developments in the health, nutrition and behavioral aspects of the pets.

I try to be as networked as possible to allow my clients access to as much current, reputable information as possible.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength is an in-born sincere love of animals and concern for their proper physical and emotional care.

I feel the pets know when someone genuinely cares for them or is just pretending for show.
