Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My best advice is simply to look into the company you hire. A duct cleaner will be in every room of your home so you need someone you can trust. You should also realize that the lowest price doesn't usually lead to the best service.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. According to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, a proper residential cleaning should take a significant amount of time (3-5 hours for a typical home). Beware of companies who say they can clean your entire home for $99. Often this is either a bait-and-switch tactic or you will receive a significantly lower quality of service.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask if they are a member of NADCA and if the technician coming to your home is a certified Air Systems Cleaning Specialist. Ask to see his certification. Ask them to tell you step by step how they will do the cleaning and how long it will take.
