Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. 1, Begin with the end in mind. What is your video going to do for you? Sure, this is marketing. But it's the only way one can measure success.
2. Owning an expensive camera and editing software doesn't make one a video producer any more than owning a new hammer and saw makes one a homebuilder. Ask for referrences.
3. The price tag doesn't tell the whole story. Often producing a cheap video will cost you more because of re-shoots and edits.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Q. YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter. What's the best way to create one project that can be used in many ways?

A. It begins with producing a video that can be "repurposed" for several applicatoins. One good marketing video can be used in a PowerPoint, distributed on DVD or BlueRay, through your own website, and more. The key is to keep updating both the video and the words that discribe it.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Can you demonstrate that your videos "work?" What kind of video (look, feel, pace, creative approach) will my target audience appreciate and become engaged in? Will my video look professional or like a high school class assignment? Can I talk to some of your clients?
