Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common job we do if for those client who have some wood floors in some, but not all of their home add they would like to add it to the rest of their home. So we will weave new floors into the exisitng floors if necessary and then sand and finish the new floors and refinish the existing floors so that all of the floor match.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. All wood floor refinishing is not created equally. Cheaper prices, mean inferior products are being used.. Or less of them. Although, we don't offer the lowest prices, we will challege anyone with respect to value.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Consumer should ask if the client is accredited through the Better Business Bureau, for proof of Insurance, What finishes they use and how many coatings of it, references, pictures etc.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I started doing wood floors when I was in high school. I grew up in a small town and happened to get a job for the only guy within miles of the town that did wood floors. After working with him for several years, I decided to branch out on my own at which point I took my younger brother on to teach him the trade. He has since worked his way up to being my business partner.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. We just completed a very large commercial project for River of Goods in St.Paul. They just relocated to a newly built building. We put in about 15,000 square feet of a beautiful handscraped hickory flooring. Best of all we did the job ahead of the tight schedule that they had to do it, which was just 2 weeks.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. All of our employees regularly attend classes put on by both finish manufactrers as well as the National Wood Flooring Association. side from that we are constantly working hard to stay up on all of the latest trends and technologies associated with the trade. We feel that keeping up on these things can make our job easier and the projects more convienient for our clients.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. The most recent project we completed was a large commercial job in St.Paul. It included roughly 25 offices, 2 showrooms, 3 kitchens, 2 break rooms, 6 bathrooms and more. For this job we installed roughly 15,000 square feet of flooring. We were able to complete the job ahead of the tight 2 week timeline. The project was between $50,000 & $100,000.
