    Steve took the time to go through my house to discuss things I would like to do, and made some recommendations that are within my budget. He was also willing to show me how to do some simple things myself. I own a duplex, so there is two or more of everything. Steve showed me how to properly insulate a door on my very old house so I could do the remaining 10 myself. So, basically, he was willing to take money out of his own pocket to save me some. He is also very flexible; willing to work within my budget; and willing to do a job in stages vs all at once, making it easier for me to save money toward each stage. I haven't found that with contractors, who want me to spend thousands of dollars up front to do something that can be done over time, or who never provided a quote or returned my calls after seeing my home and learning of my budget constraints.

    Positives: 1- Punctual
    2. Trustworthy- I left him in my home all day alone
    3. Knowledgeable- gave alternatives to my original wants
    4. Skilled


    Negatives: 1. High hourly rate of $50. Not necessarily competitive
    2. Total job was more expensive than budget due to Steve adding another handyman to assist with the work. This was a last minute change that he wanted me to compensate person for.
    3. Some of the small job work was not completed at all.
    4. Project site areas cleaned after completed work- not all of them were some remained dirty


    OVERALL: If Steve's hourly rate dropped to $25-$35 per hour I would recommend him. If his rate is $36-$50 per hour I would not recommend him. His services and hourly rate should include additional workers and not have them separate
