Focus on interior painting, but do exterior as well. Licensed, bonded, insured, references--the usual yada yada, but important! I'm shocked by the horror stories I hear of painters who don't show up, show up under the influence, do messy work, and don't fix it...how 'bout that yada yada! I stand out because I: - Intend to do a lasting job from the get go. My bids may include more work time than some, because I focus on doing it well the first time. No corner cutting. - Offer solid bids, not merely estimates, so you know exactly what to expect. Surprises are rare in painting. - Stay in communication with my clients, get a clear idea of work you want done, create simple, complete contracts so you know what to expect, show up when I say (or call you if I cannot), and give daily summaries of work performed, so you stay updated on project progress, and I clean up daily, and ask you if things are OK before I leave. - Offer satisfaction guarantee: I ask for 50% of total project cost the day I set up in your home. When the work is complete, I ask you to do a walk through, and complete anything I may have overlooked. When you're happy, you pay the remainder. Being a contractor is about so much more than doing good work. Here's some of what I do: * Interior: wall & ceiling repair (always invisible); mold & mildew removal; wall, ceiling, floor painting. Beautiful enameling, staining and varnishing. Remove old paint dripped onto trim; cabinet painting; radiators; popcorn ceiling removal. Some handyman work. I'm very neat. * Exterior: power washing, very thorough scraping and sanding of old paint; repair damaged wood, thorough priming of bare wood (and often suggest applying linseed oil to condition dry, bare wood--often adds years to a project); neat application of paint by brush, roller, and spray. * Deck cleaning and refinishing. * Window washing. * Help with color selection (I offer my humble but experienced opinion, and have software for you to view your house with different colors.) * Garage Floors
