Clear Choice Restoration is a full-service general contractor operating in the Twin Cities Metro Area. We are fully insured, licensed, and we are a member of several trade associations, such as the Minnesota Association of Exterior Specialists and the Minnesota Better Business Bureau, where we have maintained an A+ rating.

We take great pride in our work, and we will provide you with the professional services you need to obtain the highest quality materials and the best building practices to restore your property from hail, wind, ice, or other storm-related damages. Customer service and quality is our main concern, and we strive to leave every customer's property cleaner than it was when we started, and the property owner completely satisfied with our work.

Did you know that insurance companies have a statute of limitations on their claims, and that the period of time varies depending upon the company? Our knowledge and experience will ensure that any and all damage to your home will be pointed out to your insurance company's field adjuster and that the amount provided for the complete restoration is in line with today's costs of materials and labor.

We have been trained, and we use the same estimating software that most insurance companies use to generate their estimates. This is important to our clients because it facilitates the communication between us as the general contractor doing the repairs, and the insurance company to quickly settle on the scope and price of the project. Once the scope and price have been settled, we are ready to provide you with the best craftsmen, materials and service available to you through our long-term relationships with local subcontractors and material suppliers.

We offer a free, no-obligation exterior storm damage assessment which includes an inspection of the roof, siding, windows, and gutters. On every roof installation project we perform, a free roof ventilation assessment to ensure that the attic space is vented properly. There is no additional charge for this, and this greatly reduces the chances of ice dams forming and premature deterioration on your shingles.

Studies have shown that only 1 in 10 roofs are ventilated properly. All of our work is backed by Minnesota statutory warranties. We will secure all building permits, and ensure that your property is inspected and passed by your city building officials.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do your homework. When you go in for surgery you want the best surgeon, right? Why wouldn't you want the same when getting your home re-roofed. Make sure they are licensed and insured. Check references, testimonials, BBB, etc.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Drip edge must be under the underlayment on eaves and must be applied over the underlayment on the rakes. By not doing this, it may void your shingle warranty. Most roofs I inspect are incorrect and can lead to leakage.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We offer a free ventilation assessment with every re-roof project. 9 out of 10 systems are vented incorrectly. If it is incorrect, we offer solutions to get it corrected to alleviate ice dam problems in the winter and save on your utility bills in the summer.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always had a passion for the construction field. I also enjoy helping others in time of need. With my expertise, I'm able to help homeowner's and business owner's when they have been affected by storm damage.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I am both residentially and commercially certified HAAG roofing inspector. This is the same certification most adjuster's must have in order to assess storm damage correctly.

I'm also trained in Xactimate pricing program and use it daily. This is the same estimating software that most insurance companies use to build their estimates.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Many, many new law changes! OSHA requirements on residential roofing to include rope and harness on any structure over 6' from ground. Also, new laws with insurance claims. It is illegal as of 8/1/11 for contractors to give any upgrade for free. This includes offering sign credits. Paying deductibles has been illegal for some time now.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Xactimate pricing system is used by most insurance companies to write their estimates. I have been trained in this system, pay the monthly subscription, and use it daily.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Do you love what you do?

Yes!
