Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am young and have a unique view on photography. I love capturing the big events, but I also am great at focusing on the details. I understand their are different styles of photography and as each of my shoots will portray a little bit of my personality, I am great at understanding what my customers want and achieving their desired style.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love meeting new people and I so enjoy capturing the love between two people. The idea behind my company is "When we were young", I think this is the reason everyone takes photos in the first place. To remember the love, beauty, passion, to make memories. I love capturing those memories for people and seeing the happiness it gives them to see the finished product.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most common question is how much do you charge, because it is common to think how much it will cost them, but the money is not comparable to the memories that will be captured. I also explain that the package is completely customizable to fit their budget AND their expectations of what they want to receive for wedding photos.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always had a love for photography (which I know all photographers say). I think it is something you are born with.

I would have NEVER described myself as creative, but I love taking and making pictures. I love looking through a lens and seeing a whole new world, and having the ability to create a story with one push of a button. I love the nostalgic feeling of my motto for photography "When we were young...". I love that one picture can create a memory, a feeling of hope, fleeting love, high intensity, intense sorrow, great joy, the "best moment of your life", I love capturing and saving.

When my first nephew and niece were born and I took their newborn pictures, I knew that very instant I never wanted to forget a major moment in their life. I love pictures where they are just screaming because all they want is mom, and a pictures of them giving me big sloppy kisses, and I love pictures of them sleeping on me, and as they are growing and taking their first steps, and learning to talk, and getting taller, and having attitude, I never want to forget that. Just like I never want you to forget the love and passion you felt for the love of your life on your wedding day. I don't want you to forget what your flowers smelt like, how you felt wearing your new ring, how overwhelming it is that EVERYONE is looking at YOU, or how beautiful you feel in your dress or how handsome you feel in your tux. I don't want you to forget how amazing your meal was, and how happy you were during your first dance, and how awesome the champagne tasted after the toast your best friend or parents just gave. This is why I got into the business of photography.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I am constantly reading manuals, blogs, websites, following other professional photographers. I am constantly shooting new pictures, trying new things, and enhancing my creativity. I am looking into photography school when I am done with my double B.S. and minor all surrounding business. I am contacting wedding professionals and just being teachable and trying to learn more about the field of wedding photography.

I believe photography is a never ending education system. There are always new things to learn and enhance. New things to improve. New products to use, new lenses, lighting equipment, and editing software. I am constantly reading about new tips and tricks and doing little things such as watching youtube videos and reading personal blogs.
