About
I am an experienced tutor, and have a lot of great references to show for it. The subjects I usually tutor are geometry, advanced algebra/precalculus, statistics, chemistry, and physics, as well as SAT and ACT prep. I'm a licensed Minnesota educator (#429992), and I work exclusively as an individual tutor. Do not get pulled in by the tutoring factories which utilize a canned course of study when your child really needs a specialized approach. I don't offer any kind of service where I do term papers or take-home tests for a student; I teach. I was also employed as a scientist for twenty years prior to my teaching career, so I have real-world experience with the sciences and math. I'm experienced at working with home-schooled students, gifted students, and students with various learning disabilities. I usually travel to your home or to a nearby library. Call me for an estimate at the phone number provided.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I came out of a geological science profession to enter education ten years ago, and became disappointed early on with many of the deleterious changes being made within the classroom environment. I had been tutoring part-time while teaching in the public schools, and then decided to make a full-time effort of it two years ago. It is truly the most satisfying work I have ever done, or could imagine.
