As an award-winning Minnesota-based photographer and artist, I have been greatly influenced by the Upper Midwest. I focus my skills and energies on portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, architectural and fine art work.
Your image is our business.
A. Step 1 is to really know what you want in a photographer. You need to know what style you are looking for and make sure you and the photographer you are considering does indeed work in your style. Also take time to speak with the photographer to see if you work well together. This has to be a team collaboration effort, the better you work together, the better the final result. It might be wise to check references on your photographer also.
A. Inside secrets? You must know what you are getting for your final result. Do you get full license rights to use the final images or not? If you do not have the rights to print or use the final products what good it is to get gorgeous images? You must also know if there are any hidden costs for the delivery of the final product. The way you do that is get a complete quote for the job that includes all pieces all the way to the final delivered product. Is there a charge for the session? Is there a charge for prints? Is there a charge for a DVD deliverable? Is there a charge for editing?
If you have answers to all of these questions before the session your chances for satisfaction go way up.
A. What is the photographer's style -- traditional, photojournalistic, etc.?
Does the photographer shoot in mostly color, black and white, or both?
Does he or she shoot digitally or with film?
How many rolls does he or she expect to shoot?
Will he or she have an assistant at the session?
Can I give the photographer a list of shots that I want?
Am I meeting with the person who will be taking photos of my project? If not, can I meet with the photographer assigned to my project?
How long has the photographer been shooting this type of work?
Is my project the only one he or she will be shooting that day?
What type of equipment will he or she be using? Will the lighting be intrusive?
