Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be sure that our license and insurances are current. Be sure that we are the certified, trained professionals coming in to do the work and that it won't be sub-contracted to a (probably) unlicensed sub contract out fit.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Painting a room the way actors do it on TV may look good on TV, but it looks terrible in real-life. It's a lot more work and takes quite a bit longer than a 30 minute episode to get it done right. Walls need to be repaired, sanded and properly prepared prior to application of the new coatings. All surfaces (walls, wood work, floors, etc.) must be properly prepared and protected prior to starting every project. Product knowledge, professional grade equipment and Expert finishing techniques make all the difference between 'just painting it' and a beautiful, protective finish.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Be sure to research their references, licensing (which is required in the state of Minnesota) and pedigrees. Check with the Minnesota department of labor and industry for licensing verification. ALL painting and drywall contractors are now Required to have a State license. Check with BBB and Angie's List to make sure there are no complaints and that they do good work.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. This is a construction project that may require a fair amount of work on the client's behalf in order to keep costs down. Proper planning and timing will help you save time and money on your project. Start at the top and work your way down. Ceilings, then walls, then woodwork, then floors, then final cleaning. We maintain a clean project site and clean up thoroughly before we haul out, but dust can take a day or more to finally settle, so you should plan maid services and carpet cleaning after we are done. Professional moving and cleaning services are available upon request, for an additional charge.
