Introduction: I have filled several different roles along my journey, giving me a diverse background and understanding of what it takes to provide a quality service and a comfortable home. I have been working in the Interior Design world for about 8 years, and construction for 10 years. I have also managed my 2 Airbnbs for 2 years to include all operations, staging, decorating, and cleaning. I have a passion for creating a clean and organized space, along with helping people feel loved, comfortable, and at peace. I love what I do and and do it with great joy and passion. As of 2024, my main focus is cleaning, organizing, staging, and decorating. These are the tasks that bring me and my clients the most joy and benefit. I am currently not focused on Interior Design projects, and will only take on select projects. In the right scenario, I may also offer in home design consultations, remote design consultations, paint selection, digital designs, floorplans, layouts, renders, and onsite, hands on interior design, decorating, and staging. At this time I only offer home staging if using your current furniture and decor, or purchasing items within your budget. I do not have an inventory of items to use for staging.

Harmony was great to work with on our lower level remodel project! She assisted with paint color selection, countertops, and connected us with a contractor to do the work. We’re very pleased with the outcome!

Harmony and her team did an amazing job on our basement renovation! They were quick, cost effective, and we were thrilled with the results. Harmony took extra care to walk through our space before the renovation and help us make decisions on what would look the best in our space. Overall we are so happy with it!

I have contacted Harmony to come by and review the house. I laid out my projects on a sheet of paper, which she copied. At the end of the interview, she said she needed $150 up front before she could provide any recommendations. I paid. After 2 weeks, I still have not received anything, (call, text or email). I sent her a text at the end of a week and she responded she was busy. At the end of two weeks, I sent a text message saying she failed to send anything, so I wanted my money back. She replied she spent 5 hours working on my design, but she still didn't send anything. I don't recommend her to anyone. If you are polite and honest, she takes advantage of you. I feel she just took the $150 for no work. I will not use professionals on Thumbtack as long as my money has not been refunded.

I’m sorry you feel that way Jack. I made it clear that I was coming over for a color consult, to make suggestions, and to review the full scope of future work. I also made it clear that I charge $100/hour for design consultations - as my profile even states. You even watched and liked my Facebook video explaining my consultations and that they’re not free. I spent almost two hours with you in your home that day. I also spent another 3 hours between prep work, conversations with you via a phone call and text messages, and an hour of drive time. You rushed me out of your home and did not give me a chance to lay out next steps nor set expectations on the process. I told you I’d begin working on your project “in a week or so” and that I’d be in touch. Yesterday marked 1 week. You cannot expect completed designs in a week, nor for $150. You also can’t expect that I would’ve been able to start work immediately. I have other customers to take care of. The $150 you paid was for the color consult. The remaining work would’ve been additional and at a minimum of $200, but likely more. Feel free to speak with other designers and you’ll find my prices are fair, and my process is normal. Your expectations are out of alignment with how interior design works and I hope you can find some understanding from my side in this situation. Regardless, you don’t work for free, and neither do I. I wish you well and am saddened it had to come to this. Take care and best of luck.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Prices range from $100-$5000 and up for Interior Design, and $5000-$100,000 and up for remodeling and construction services. All depending on the customer's needs and full scope of work. I offer al a cart options and can discount for bundling services. 1 Hour Design Consultation = $100 3D Digital Room Design = $250 3D Digital Bathroom Design = $350 3D Digital Kitchen Design = $500 Paint Selections/Color Consultation = $125 Furniture & Decor Selection (includes shopping list) = Starting at $500
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1: Complete the Client Questionnaire Step 2: 15 minute phone conversation to discuss budget and ensure I'm a good fit for your needs Step 3: Sign Contract & Collect Deposit Step 4: Create the space of your dreams!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
First job at age of 12 was working in my father's cabinet shop. I love woodworking! I took all the Interior Design and art classes I could get my hands on in high school and college. I completed a 2 year course on Drafting & AutoCAD, obtaining my completion certificate in 2006. I worked at Ethan Allen for 2 years, starting my senior year of high school as a Design Assistant. I finished my Associates in Arts Degree in 2008, then had an opportunity fall in my lap to design solar system layouts for residential solar installations. From there I got hired as a Project Manager and kitchen and bath designer for a high end custom home builder in Kansas City. After I had my daughter, I started my business so I could work from home and have flexibility to take care of her while I work. I have been doing that for 3 years now. Most of my education and training was in the field and hands on - the best type of education if you ask me! I never had the need to go back to finish my degree as my skills and passion for Interior Design are natural born.
