About ATA Karate for Kids and Taekwondo Family Centers

We offer the following:

* ATA Taekwondo/Karate for Kids and Tiny Tigers Program

Karate for Kids is a licensed martial art program through the American Taekwondo Association (ATA), which has over 1,500 schools worldwide. This allows the opportunity for military families to transfer to another ATA school and keep all rewards/belts earned.

And the material taught is consistent throughout all ATA schools. The children will experience a fun, safe and family-friendly environment, along with learning self-defense, fitness and bully prevention.

* ATA Tiny Tiger Program (ages 3-6)

The Taekwondo for Tiny Tigers program is designed specifically for preschool-age children. This program gives children a strong foundation in important character qualities such as confidence, courtesy, respect, discipline, honesty, and perseverance.

In addition, the Taekwondo for Tiny Tigers program is designed to enhance children's motor skills and improve their ability to follow directions. All classes are taught using the safest, most exciting and fun instruction methods that are available for this age group.

* ATA Taekwondo/Karate for Kids Program (ages 6-12)

Karate for Kids is a traditional taekwondo program that focuses on mental and physical improvement in fun-filled, disciplined classes for children ages 6 and up. There are several reasons for kids to embrace the martial arts. In addition to technical skills, the Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept.

The building blocks for our system are themes, such as:

Confidence
Courtesy
Dedication
Friendship
Goals
Integrity
Perseverance
Respect
Self-awareness
Self-control
Self-esteem
Self-improvement

In addition, the Karate for Kids program is designed to improve self-confidence, coordination and self-discipline.

* ATA Taekwondo for Teens and Adult Program (ages 12 and up)

Fitness

Songahm taekwondo training lets you get in shape and stay in shape at your own pace. The basis of traditional martial arts training comes from the design of your body.

For power, we assist you in developing the larger, powerful muscles of your body. The speed of taekwondo technique comes from the fast, active muscles of your arms and legs.

Self-Defense

When the speed and power developed through taekwondo are used in self-defense against the vulnerable parts of an attacker's body, a person can be really efficient against a much larger opponent. Just knowing you can defend yourself gives you confidence, which is often enough to deter potential attackers.

Self-Confidence

Self-confidence doesn't come naturally for many people, but by setting reasonable goals and attaining them, it can be developed over time. The self-confidence that results from taekwondo training will carry over into every aspect of your life.

Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. All martial art schools are different. Make sure to find one that is part of an organization so that transferring to another school if moved or transferred may be easier. Also, check the history of the school - ask around.
