Introduction: KC Rock Band & Guitar is a music school in Kansas City focused primarily on teaching rock band instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboard, and saxophone) to students ages 10 and up. We employ professional music teachers who have a heart for students, use fun and engaging music, and teach the art of performance to our students. We also offer home-school music groups during the daytime, traditional band (woodwinds, brass and percussion), group guitar, rock band, and percussion ensemble. Our goal is for students to gain a lifetime love of music, to feel the excitement of struggling and reaching challenging goals, to perform with confidence, and learn to speak the language of music! We are teaching Kansas City to rock!

My 13-year-old son had his 1st experience playing saxophone with KC Rock Band & Guitar this summer and I cannot say enough positive things about it! Not only have I witnessed a great improvement in his skills, he practices because he WANTS to & he has thoroughly enjoyed this fun & creative experience! We can't wait to attend the Rock Band concert next week!

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

KC Rock Band & Guitar focuses primarily on the instruments of the rock band--guitar, bass, drum set, vocals, saxophone, piano, percussion--for students ages 10 and up. We have a tried and true curriculum that takes anyone from an absolute beginner or an advanced student, and plugs them in the appropriate spot, all with the goal of getting them to perform in a group. Students love having goals to work towards, being able to jam in a band, and getting to perform! They play music they know and love, which is rewarding as well.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Here's what to look for when searching for music education services: -Great teachers with experience (teaching and performing), music degrees, and a love for music and teaching music! -Performing opportunities--this keeps up motivation, gives students a goal to work towards, and it is rewarding to show off all students have accomplished! Plus, learning to present oneself onstage and getting comfortable in front of an audience is a life-skill that will benefit students for years to come. -Goals--there must be goals for students to work towards. Performances, moving up to the next class level, etc. Taking lessons indefinitely by oneself, with no clear goals is a recipe for losing interest and being unmotivated to practice and progress. Find a place that challenges you/your student, and then has opportunities to shine!
