A. There are alot of handyman ad's that advertise deck and fence staining, but if you want a quality job, its important to hire someone experienced in wood restoration. Do not hire "We do anything" companies who are only interested in making a quick buck. Good Neighbor Fence company will not accept payment until our customers are 100% satisfied.
A. The most important part of wood staining is the preperation. Power-washing is essentual! It not only cleans all the hidden dirt and algae but also opens the pores in the wood so the stain can penetrate deeper. Not all stain and sealer brands are alike. There are many variations from oil based to water based stains. The most expensive does not always mean the best but be careful when using cheap stains as they won't last.
