Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I have done weddings and children photo shoots the most. Children have been the most fun for me. You never have a dull moment when photographing them!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure you meet with the photographer before hiring them to get a good feel of personality. This will tell you if they are a good fit for you.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are quite a few people who don't realize what all goes into the finished photographs that they receive. There is alot of work to be done after the photo shoot happens. Photographers spend many hours editing and sorting through all the photos that we have taken.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My costs are much more reasonable and my turn around time is quicker.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Photography is my passion and has been since I was a liitle girl. I love everything about the process.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Will I get a copyright release to make more prints at a later date? My answer is yes!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I photographed my brother's senior portraits and had so much fun doing it I decided to start my own business. After having children of my own, I wanted to be able to provide other parents with something different than the standard in studio, generic type of photographs.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I do try to attend a few seminars or classes every few years just to try and keep up with the ever changing technology. Sometimes it's really hard to always know the very latest news or programs that come out to help photographers out with editing and ways to capture those great moments!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. I have very recently stepped into studio lighting. Before now I mainly did outdoor shoots or with natural lighting only. I am educating myself on the different methods of lighting and how to manipulate that lighting for different affects.
