Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am an independent piano teacher working from my home-based studio in South Kansas City, MO. My location is convenient - very close to Leawood, Overland Park, Prairie Village, and all points mid-town and south in Kansas City, MO. I have over 30 years of experience teaching children ranging in age from 3 to 18 years old. While I work from the earliest pre-school ages through the advanced levels including competition playing and preparation for college and university music programs, my greatest joy is in beginning students. Starting a child in a solid, pedagogically sound manner and, then, nurturing the child through the years as they build skills, confidence, and self-esteem, is the joy that drives and motivates me. I will provide tuition pricing, either, in my response on the inquiry or in person, if you wish to call. I do not "sell time" so it is difficult for me to quote an hourly rate, or fixed price, in the Thumbtack system. I charge a yearly tuition that is divided into monthly installments and will be happy to explain it to you, upon request. Piano lessons can be one of the greatest enhancements to your child's educational experience and personal growth. I would love to discuss with you on how to bring the lifelong gift of making music to your child. Please call for information, and to set an appointment to see the studio and meet with me. I can answer any questions at that time. I will provide you with resume and references upon request.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I utilize the same business model as a private school in terms of studio tuition. My year is divided into two 18-week semesters during the school year, plus an 8 to 10 week term in the summer. There is a yearly tuition divided into monthly installments. It is, as follows: 30 minute lessons= $1,200.00 per year/$100.00 installment due the first lesson of each month. 45 minute lesson= $1,800.00 per year/$150.00 installment due the first lesson of each month. 60 minute lesson= $2,400.00 per year/$200.00 installment due the first lesson of each month. There is an $85.00 fee collected at the beginning of each school year. This is comprised of a $50.00 sheet music deposit and a $35.00 studio activity fee.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I give piano lessons to children ranging in age from 3 to 18 years old. I have over 30 years experience and offer an excellent, comprehensive program, tailored to each individual student's needs.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

To seek a professional with extensive experience and a person who demonstrates a commitment to working with children of all ages in a well-thought out and executed program. For all students, but especially for beginners, you should look for a person who sees the beginning levels, not as a "shrug off", but as the most important stage in the learning process.
