- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am associated with Unity Worldwide Ministries and have access to ongoing education. I also study traditional and nontraditional services and trends in order to help you get the best, most up-to-date and/or the most traditional customs and vows for you personally. I take ongoing classes to add to my continuing education hours so that I can stay licensed as a Unity minister. I study the latest trends and fashions for weddings and events. I keep an updated list of professional vendors with whom I stay in contact to see what's new in their worlds. I attend wedding shows, fashion shows, and other shows geared toward the bridal industry. I happen to be getting married myself in September 2015, so I'm all about weddings and how to make the best choices for the style and the budget!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was currently in charge of event hosting for Unity Village Seminary in Kansas City, MO. The themes of the programs were different every week and my job was to come up with decor, food, entertainment, and "take-aways" to fit each theme. I worked with groups of about 20 to over 150. And this all had to be done on a budget! I am an ordained and licensed Unity minister who can help you celebrate in your choice of a traditional or non-traditional way. The joy I get from bringing two people together in sacred commitment to each other is a gift to me each time I perform a ceremony.
