I am a makeup artist who is available for any type of events. My favorite are weddings! Beauty On Display can offer a team of makeup artists for any event that requires a large amount of services.

I also specialize in teaching my customers on how to take care of their skin and how to properly apply their own makeup for day-to-day wear or for special events. This is to help them save money and get the best photo results possible.

I offer false eyelash extensions as well. Even if you are not into makeup, that's fine because we are more into skincare; you never know, you just might like it.

We also offer image consulting for those who are looking to spruce up their image to accent their current body shape.

We offer gift-giving ideas as well for all holidays.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most commonly I do weddings and birthday parties. I also do a lot of girls night outs with home parties because people like to learn about their skin with their girlfriends.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Do not hire someone based on how cheap their price is. Unless its a special and they are way below the average there is a reason why. Could be cheap products which do not give you the best out come. Ask the make up artist does he/she assist with your skin issues or does he/she just apply make up.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. How to extend the wear of my lipstick without it bleeding and how to keep my eye shadow from cracking. I would also like to know how to keep the oils in my skin from breaking thru during the day.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You should have an idea of what colors you will be wearing and when your event is. You should have an idea of how many people would like services done. For image consulting you should have a few dates you are available for a consultation handy so we can schedule match. For gift giving you should know the gender and an around about age of the person you are giving your gift to.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Beauty On Display does not just come in and put make up on you for an event. We listen to your needs 1st and then we offer suggestions. Before applying any make up we offer you a facial 1st w/microdermabrasion to ensure your skin is its best state so that the make up lays down flawlessly. Then we apply the make up the way you would like it to look but very naturally and flawlessly. We use a foundation that does not rub off on your clothing.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love meet new people and being a part of their transition. Some people transition into a happier place when someone shows them how to spruce up your look. Even when you cannot change the way the economy is going you can change the way you feel about it and about yourself.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. 1) What is your fee? $50 for brides, $35 for bridesmaids, $35 for special event make up.

2) How much are your make up lessons? Depends on how many people are participating

3) What is your travel fee. Free within 25 miles of 63074 Neg. after 20 miles depending on distance

4) Do you have customer referrals? Yes I have a bunch of them

5) Can we talk to our make up artist/image consultant directly? Yes

6) What products do you use? We use some mac, some marykay, and a few other high quality products which is where our price for services comes from but can accomidate you w/other brands

7) Do you assist with all skin types? Yes including but not limited to acne, age spots, wrinkles, eczema, rosacia, and much more.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I have lots of stories, ask me about them

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. That its such a rewarding profession. The money is fine but the smile on the customers face and the referrals you get are much more rewarding.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I got into my line of work because people always ask me who did my make up or how do you get your skin to look so flawless when you have eczema and extremely oily skin and why does your eye shadows never looked cracked at the end of the day?

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I am particularly proud of a bride who I did about 1 week ago because she had really bad skin and went to the department store for her consultation and her face looked terrible. Her wedding was the next day so I gave her a facial and did her make up and covered all of her imperfections up and gave her a very natural look. I put glitter all over her upper body and a little in her hair. I got a bumch of calls the next day saying she looked like an angel and they have never seen her look better. The bride started crying when she looking the mirror because she felt so pretty.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I continuosly research the current trends in make up and in fashion and read a lot of books. I am also attending asthetician school which is all about skincare and make up and the health of the body. I am also an LPN so I have a nursing background as well.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. We are currently working on airbrush make up and spray tanning and we will be offering these services for next summer.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. The most recent was a wedding of 8 girls who wanted a bridal shower spa day and that took about 3 hours. We did manis/pedis and skincare and light make up application. They then wanted make up for their wedding the next day. That was $58 per lady for the spa event because they wanted a facial and a lip gloss in addition to manis/pedis. The wedding day make up was $40 for bride and $25 for the bridemaids because they had gotten a service with us the night prior.

Gratuity is not required although its greatly appreciated if you are pleased with our services.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest either going to asthetician school if you have no knowledge. If you are not able to attend school or have some knowledge please contact Beauty On Display and we can help train you and get you started.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Our greatest strength is offering a natural yet flawless makeup look. We specialize in skin care so we will always prep the skin to ensure long lasting makeup!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. We currently offer eyelash tabbing of strips (same day wear) or the eyelash fillers that last 2-3 weeks but we are in the process of learning how to do the Glamour Lashes that last 2-6 months.
