Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Do you need to talk? I'm here to listen. Do you ever wish you had a place where you could be you? I mean, really you? Do you wish you could say whatever is on your mind without being judged? The odds are high that you already have enough people in your life who are trying to tell you what you should do. But do you have someone who truly listens? Sometimes, we just need someone who will listen, someone who will understand our situation and help us figure it all out. That's what I do. I'm a PLPC who is serving the St. Louis, Missouri area. And I'm here to listen to you and what you need. I know the benefits of counseling from firsthand experience; I'm a big believer in promoting a cause that I would be willing to undertake myself. My own therapy has given me a strong foundation on which to help others. That's why I'm here: I'm here to help you. When we meet, our time is all about you. I meet you on your level and listen to what you need and what is on your mind. My role doesn't mean that I already have answers to your personal questions or the issues you might be wrestling with. That is why we talk together to help you figure out the answers to your questions. We'll take it at your pace, too: my mission is to create a safe environment for you where you feel that you can express yourself without being judged. You are the one in control at all times. Author Henry David Thoreau said that, "Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder." That's what our time is about: turning our attention to other things. And throughout it all, you'll find butterflies start to sit softly on your shoulder, and you'll be happier for it.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I welcome all people regardless of race, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, religious or political affiliation, age, or sexual orientation. I offer counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. Below, you can read a little bit about my approach for each. Individuals: For individuals, I meet you where you are in your life. I listen to your thoughts and feelings on whatever is important to you. We take it at your pace. While our conversations may weave in and out of many different topics and ideas over time, our main goal is to focus on what you need most. Couples: When I see a couple, I see the relationship as my client. I don’t take sides. I’ll never say, “He (or she) is right; you’re wrong.” My goal isn’t to referee fights or keep score; I’m here to help both of you become more aware of your relationship and discover what it needs to succeed. Families: I treat families as a system (that is how the different members interact with each other). I look at the spaces between each member and figure out how they can better work together. When working with a family I will often times see the members individually to see if there are individual things that are needed. Groups: Groups offer a unique therapeutic experience unmatched by any other. The idea that there are others out there that feel the same was as we do, can in and of itself be comforting. The idea of universality states that we all feel the same kinds of emotions and feelings, and the group dynamic allows this to come through.
