Introduction: Your lessons with me begin and end with what you want to accomplish as a guitarist and musician. All the lessons materials I use are customized, and delivered to each student in accordance with their goals. I make an assessment in the initial lesson, and develop a long- term action plan for each student, as opposed to forcing a generic method on everyone. What I like most about my job is that I have the chance to make people's lives better and more fulfilling. This job is more than just teaching guitar...its really about giving people the tools to enjoy their life more, and to accomplish things that may seem unattainable.

I've been interested in learning electric guitar for years but was reluctant to pursue lessons after seeing the difficulty friends and family had in finding a quality instructor. My brother, for example, took lessons through a local music store for months and found that the instructors on staff (mostly broke college students) might have been skilled guitarists themselves but lacked the teaching ability to help others absorb concepts of guitar playing. That crucial skill is what makes Charlie such an excellent teacher- not only is he an immensely talented guitarist, but he is a patient, dedicated and encouraging instructor as well. Because Charlie is such an excellent teacher, his lessons have a clear structure and focus, building a foundation for truly understanding the guitar as an instrument rather than simply memorizing chords and scales. I am currently taking weekly lessons with Charlie and I am already amazed at the amount of progress I've made in just three lessons. Although I was an absolute beginner when I first started lessons with Charlie, I know that he has experience teaching students at a very wide range in age and skill level. At a rate of $35 for each hour-long lesson, Charlie is offering his skills at an incredible value as well.

Charlie does a great job listening to your goals. He wants to help you get to where YOU want to be, not where he thinks you need to be. He had me playing Rolling Stones tunes after two lessons, and although I have a long way to go, he's full of encouragement. Charlie has a passion for what he does and and he's as much an educator as he is an instructor of guitar. I'm just a beginner (a middle aged one at that!), but Charlie has me excited about where I might get to. His lessons are fun. It's the fastest hour all week for me. He provides you with all you need to practice on your own and get ready for the next lesson. These are no ordinary guitar lessons. Charlie puts you on a path to a lifetime of fun and realizing your passion for music.
