A. Confirm the trainer is a nationally certified trainer, current in CPR and adding more education - yearly. Then, shop around - visit a variety of fitness centers with trainers and watch them train others (if allowed) - are the trainers training everyone the same way, or are they providing specific individualized exercises? With over 20 national certifications, and being Nationally Board Certified (supervised by the American Medical Association); Val is one of the first 98 trainers in the WORLD to be board certified. Determine the most important goal for you - then focus on finding a facility or trainer that can fill that SPECIFIC need. A. I love the human puzzle - but I don't like any other kind of puzzle though (is that weird?). The human body is so complex, and accommodates injuries, ailments and life's situations so well, that your body will over-ride an injured muscle using "assisting" muscles to complete a movement; problem is, after a while, the now healthy muscle doesn't work because the assisting muscles have totally taken over! It's rewarding to help people get all of their muscles working the way God created them - to work in unison like a finely oiled machine (which it is, most of the time). I teach clients what to do - they do the work!
