Introduction: Training Philosophy My approach to personal training focuses on education as well as the physical workout. Muscle function and proper exercise technique are vital to your success. I teach this throughout the sessions. I keep the training fun and motivating for all age groups and body types. The focus remains on individual goals and fitness levels through the use of biomechanics, learning the correct exercise intensity by feeling the muscles work through an entire range of motion. The first step is to set up a consultation. During this time, we will discuss your fitness goals and health and nutrition history. This is also an important time for us to determine what your barriers to fitness are. The information that we collect during this time is used to develop a program appropriate for you. This consultation is also a time for you to question us in return and can be done via phone. What to Expect At your first session, you should be dressed in appropriate workout clothing. This session will be easier than the others in order to give you and your trainer time to get acquainted and establish a good rapport with one another. A training journal will be given to you at this session. In the journal will be a meal journal that you should record all of your food intake, so your trainer can make adjustments to your diet. Additionally, there is a exercise journal where your trainer will record your exercises each session, so your trainer can make adjustments as you progress. You should bring the training journal to every workout session. You will be shown a whole body approach that will help you reach your goals. The Better Bodies program includes a working manual on your body's biochemistry, muscle function, nutrition and the relationship this has with exercise and weight training. Together, we will increase your physical strength, endurance and energy, giving you a better body.
