FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly looking into continue education and attending workshops/seminars from some of the industries most respected professionals. There are always new things to learn, or old things to learn in a new way from someone else.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally went to college to be a high school math teacher. I needed to fill my schedule with some general electives in order to be a full time student and receive insurance. My advisor enrolled me into a human physiology class(I asked for an "easy" class, this wasn't) and I actually LOVED it. I loved learning about what the body was made up of and how it worked together. The next year I asked her to enroll me in more classes along those lines and she put me in a kinesiology class and biomechanics. I was hooked. After 1 more semester I changed my major and focused primarily on Kinesiology, human performance, exercise phys, etc. I was amazed that there was so much to learn and that i really enjoyed it and took to it so strongly. I always liked working out and was ecstatic to find out that I really could do something with it in real life and as a profession.
