- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have railways loved animals, especially dogs. I trained all my dogs as a child. When I lost my job several years ago I decided to pursue a new career that still involved interacting with people but benefited dogs as well.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I provide basic obedience or good canine manners for most of my clients. The majority of customer want canine family members that are well behaved. There are a few that are interested in showing their dogs in obedience but most want polite doggie companions.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I worked with a cattle dog mix that was smart but didn't know how to exist in polite society. He pulled on his leash, jumped on everyone, bit their clothing and hands and never seemed to be still. After 4 months he was the perfect gentleman. He now sits and stays when someone enters the house, no longer pulls his owners down when walking on the leash and sits for his pets when greetting people.
