FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach hourly piano lessons each week to students of all ages and experience levels. I meet with most of my students in their homes, and also meet some at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Maryland Heights, depending on what is most convenient. I cater my approach specifically to each student based on their experience levels, strengths and weaknesses, and long-term musical goals.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would always recommend that you work with a piano teacher who is also an accomplished pianist. Many piano teachers actually do not play the piano very well, and I believe that this will lead to failure for many students. Beginners, especially young people, need to see someone play the piano as part of their music education. My experience with performance gives me an advantage over many other piano teachers. In addition, I am a young adult, and have the ability to create a good rapport with my students. This encourages them to progress and facilitates their development as pianists. The most important thing is that lessons be a fun and positive experience that harbors a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
