Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. When looking for a transcriber or transcription company you always want to ask about their privacy policy and experience. If their rates are great but they have no experience or no privacy policy, it's a company to avoid.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. When looking for a transcription company always ask about turnaround time with the pricing. Sometimes a very low price is quoted to you but it has a longer turnaround time and then when you request a faster turnaround a much higher price is quoted or billed to you. Pricing is based on turnaround time.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. What type of transcription they are most familiar with?
Do they have and what is their privacy policy?
Do they perform any bilingual transcription, if so, what languages?
If they are an internet/phone company only, ask what hours of operation are reasonable for email responses and/or phone calls?
Is there a contract available for consumers who need transcription on a consistent basis?
Is a video conference call an option for discussing contract details or a difficult transcription request?
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. The most important aspect customers should have completely thought through before calling, is what they need the turnaround time to be.
