I have never considered boarding my dog in the past because I couldn't imagine my dog being in a cage and let out once a day in a concrete play yard with many other dogs. So grateful to have found Connie! As a pup, my dog benefited a great deal from her stay at Connie's. She was socialized with other dogs ALL DAY LONG and Connie also helped with her training and gave her lots of love. If my dog could talk, I would imagine that she would tell me that she had a wonderful vacation! Thanks Connie, for providing an environment that is stress free and fun for the dogs and worry free for us.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Interview the dog sitter to be sure you are comfortable with her experience, knowledge, attitudes, and abilities.
Does she take time to understand what you and your dog need/want? Is she willing to provide extra services?

Are the premises safe, spacious, and clean? Are the other doggie visitors well-behaved? Do you feel comfortable that your dog will be in good hands?

Are the costs reasonable? Do they include all services, including brushing, giving medications, and plenty of regular exercise? Can your dog receive professional grooming just before going home? Would you entrust your best friend to this person's care?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We provide individualized care and grooming for a limited number of dogs who live as our loved guests. The Woof House is a friendly, safe, comfortable place that even the most discriminating dog will appreciate. While you are on vacation or at work, your dog will be one happy pooch!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Dog Sitting gives me the opportunity to do what I love while earning my living.

Caring for so many types of dogs gives me invaluable experiences that fulfill my passion for learning about and being with dogs.

Getting to know so many other dog lovers is fun and adds zest to my life.

Helping people through dogs is part of my retirement mission.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What do your services cost?

Typical costs:
Boarding: $25-$45 per day.
Daycare: $20-$28 per day.
Grooming: Determined after meeting each dog.

We have a Special Sit n' Groom package so your dog can go home clean and beautiful.
We also provide discounts for multiple dogs, longer stays, special circumstances, etc.

After we discuss your needs and our services, we can set up a date/time for a meet n' greet at our home.

Please call us to discuss your pooch's needs and make an appointment to meet. You can be assured that WoofWoof Pooches receive outstanding services while staying with at WOOFWOOF.

WOOF!

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One of our first doggie clients was eight-week-old Beagle, BellaBean. Her people originally asked that we stop at their home two times a day to play with her and take her for walks. When we suggested that daily exercise, socialization, training, and all-day fun would help her grow into a healthier, happier dog, they agreed to bring her while they worked and went on vacation.

It's nine years later, and that rambunctious puppy has grown into a mature, happy girl who comes for regular grooms, and stays with us for vacations. BellaBean -- like most of our visitors -- still gets excited when she comes to WoofWoof. We still get excited every time we see her!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. The love for dogs is among my earliest memories, followed by the love of books.

Librarianship was my first career, including 20 years as Library Director at the Missouri Botanical Garden.

While at the Garden, I began volunteering with SUPPORT DOGS, providing dog therapy at retirement homes, plus fostering and training a SUPPORT DOGS puppy. After retiring from the Garden, I began fostering rescue dogs and working as a sitter for FETCH, a professional dog sitting service. When I realized the need to earn my retirement income, WoofWoof came into being.

In April, 2011, WoofWoof moved to our present home, which has been canine-customized to accommodate our canine visitors in style and comfort. We have nine rooms, including our grooming spa, comfortable resting spaces, and relaxing music. Our three yards provide space to run, play, and experience nature. WoofWoof provides a dream vacation for dogs!

We opened our grooming spa in 2012. Our Professional Groomer is Dawn Chiapel, trained through Kennelwood. Dawn takes her time to do a beautiful groom, and she receives excellent feedback from her clients.

Come take advantage of our Sit n' Groom specials!

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Our greatest strength is caring. We care about our clients and their furry friends enough to go beyond ordinary sitting and grooming to give each visitor extra time and attention. We listen to our clients and visitors so that we can provide individualized care.

Dawn and I love being with dogs, which results in a relaxed, fun atmosphere for our canine and human visitors, as well as for us. Each dog, each person, each moment is special at WoofWoof!
