Kollection is an Albemarle, NC-based, family-friendly, and all-star party band. Kollection plays music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with heavy emphasis on regional-favorite Carolina Beach Music songs with enough classic rock thrown in to make a good mix that pleases most Carolina parties and festival crowds.

Kollection's members have individually been at this for decades, and our all-star group first played together in 2004. Kollection uses no booking agent; therefore, our rates are far more affordable than many comparable bands as you book directly with us.

We can provide everything necessary for our show, but the stage and electricity, or we can bring just the backline when frontline services are provided. We want to play for your event anywhere in the central Carolinas!

Our fee will vary, depending on the travel requirements, venue requirements, and length of the performance. Just visit our website for more information, including our song list, and click on our MySpace link to hear audio samples.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Book early! Bands need lead time to arrange schedules and for public performances they like to get the word out to their following via Facebook, MySpace, direct email lists, etc. Also, the venue itself and available resources such as providing professional PA services can make a performance easier and thus more affordable. Outdoor performances require not only a covered stage, but substantially more PA equipment than indoor shows. If at night then stage lighting is also required.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Often the songs bands put out to prospective clients are studio tracks, not live performances. Unless you are listening to live performance recordings, the band probably will not sound the same live as on the demo recordings you hear when deciding whether to hire them or not. It is better to hear live recordings if not possible to see the band in person.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What songs do you play? Do you take requests? Can I select songs from a list? Can you play a special song for us? How long are your sets or how often do you take breaks? What entertainment is provided during band breaks? What is your band's website? Where can I hear live recordings?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Budgeting and what type band they want. For example Kollecton plays hardly any country & western type music and no Bluegrass. We are primarily a Carolina Beach Music/Classic Rock band.
