My daughter is only 7 and Peter was patient, kind and was able to keep her attention focused for an entire hour. She is so excited. Glad we found him!!

Peter’s thoughtful reply to my initial “thumbtack” inquiry made it clear that he was knowledgeable about drumming and able to communicate the complexities of percussion to a novice. Starting with the basics, we have been focusing on hand positioning and rudimentary skills on a practice pad. Peter’s skills are phenomenal so he can demonstrate a variety of hand positions and playing styles with remarkable precision of tempo. Then, and here’s the kicker, I play the student drum kit (snare, bass & HH) and Peter plays his colossal drum kit and we work on various riffs simultaneously with accuracy of timing being a primary focus. This approach to learning is proving to be extremely helpful as I can watch, listen, copy, and play along with Peter – an ideal method for the experiential learner. And, it’s fun, fun, FUN! Peter is an outstanding teacher for any player, at any level and at any age! I highly recommend him!

Peter instructed my 14 year old son in drumming.
We were most impressed with Peter's desire to teach Jared what it takes to become a good drummer, not just some beats on a drum.

It was his desire that Jared excel in drumming and understand what it takes to enjoy it for a lifetime.

Peter is an exceptionally talented artist!
With his students, he shows kindness, patience and dedication.
I can't say enough positive things about him~

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I'm passionate about drums! I'm passionate about music. And, I'm passionate about getting music into the hands of my students. I have a home studio designed to make the learning experience on the drums as exciting and fun as possible. The student gets as much hands-on time as possible on one professional drum set while I teach them foundational techniques, styles, and grooves on another set. No one leaves a lesson without feeling like they've learned or accomplished something! And, I have eleven years of professional experience performing live and in the studio. I share such valuable experiences with my students to encourage their efforts as they progress in developing their own musicianship.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get to share the joy of music with students of all ages, as well as my passion for music. What better way to spend your day than playing music with new faces, young and old? And, I'm always learning. Teaching music to others helps me to grow as a musician on the drums. I never leave a lesson without feeling that I've learned something myself.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. Who inspires you most to utilize your gifts as a musician? My Savior, Jesus Christ.
