We build confident and conscientious black belts. At the White Oak Martial Arts Center, we utilize the highest level of internal martial arts to teach our students to overcome their self doubts and personal fears. We teach our students not to be negatively influenced by others but to be an affirmative influence on the world around them.
We teach our students to have the self-confidence to achieve, the self-esteem to see their personal value, and the courage to be leaders in the areas of life that are really important.
All these are with the vision and mindfulness to contribute in a positive way not only to their personal growth, but to their community, and to their family. We teach martial arts the manner they were originally intended to be practiced.
Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. When looking for a martial arts instructor it's important to remember that the style is not so important as the instructor. Do you like this person and are you comfortable with him or her.
A good instructor is an artist and educator who ask a fair price for a high quality education.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. An education in the Martial Arts is one of the most valuable things that you can do for your family. At a quality Martial Arts school you will gain more than you can imagine before you do it. This is more then just an activity, this is an education that will last a lifetime.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Ask for hidden fees such as belt testing, required equipment purchases, required event attendance, and anything else that the instructor might think of to toss in there.
For a real professional school the tuition should run between $125-$200 per month. If the school is asking less they will attempt to hit you for more money later. Ask about this.
Remember, this is an education. Put forth the effort, build the self discipline, and get at least a Black Belt. I have met numerous people who say they wish they had never quit- but I have never met anybody who regreted earning a Black Belt.
