FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't compete with other photographers on price. I charge what I know I have to in order to live after doing the work. I won't ever do lazy or uninspired work, so I will never charge less than someone who does. My prices in quotes are what I receive, and do not include taxes. For longer travels the quotes do not include travel fees. I do offer discounts from time to time but most of that is directed towards previous clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with a phone call to get all the details and get to know each other a little bit (also make sure you're real). I use an online portal called Sprout Studio to streamline the process including a formal proposal of what I am offering with exact prices, a contract that can be signed online, any questionnaires that are needed as well, and it's also how you receive beautiful photos in a curated gallery. You can even buy prints through the gallery directly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had a camera in my hands since 2010 and have been a fine art charcoal artist since highschool before then. The beautiful thing about photography is the best training is always just going out and shooting with new subjects and new clients and always pushing the envelope. I've invested some money in online courses more specifically around shooting to print (cause a good print starts with how you snap the frame) and color accuracy from screen to print. There is endless educational content around photography that I've consumed but nothing has taught me more about how to make my clients happy than going out and shooting with them.
