- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am required to take 24 hours of continuing education each year to maintain my license. Some of the professional organizations I belong to require 35 hours. On average I take in excess of 50 hours per year, to keep up with the latest developments and also for issues that interest me in my profession.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While pursuing my Business Administration undergraduate degree I found that I had a liking for accounting & tax, and decided to continue with a second degree in accounting. While working as a corporate accountant in the recording industry the financial side of business fascinated me and I pursued a MBA with concentration in finance. Upon leaving the corporate work I found it satisfying to help small businesses with their accounting needs, and also business & individuals with their tax issues.
