FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When the women come to the Dance studio of the Greek social Club, they pay $12 each, per 1 hour lesson. If somebody wants to attend a "6 lessons session" without any absences, they can pay $65 (they save $7). In private classes, the minimum payment might be $40 with a transportation fee of $10 for Charlotte or $20 for a further destination). It's better for the host to invite a couple of girls to her place and SHARE the price. In this case the price will be again $12 each per hour, as if they were at the dance studio. The transportation fee remains the same. Upper limit in the number of participants is 10 people.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I usually attend workshops about bellydancing and drum-solo techniques (with 'darbouka' or 'hand-drum'), I participate as a performer in as many Greek Nights as I can, bc I get to know the new styles of dances and songs. I follow online classes about the new Choreographies and styles, mostly about the new balletic Russian style or the Tribal Fusion. I experience changes on costuming and I practice new props, like the hand-fans or I try new moves from Bollywood and Indian style of Bellydancing. I also discuss with other bellydancers about different versions of steps and moves, in blogs. It's a big deal for me to keep up with all the new techniques and interpretations of moves.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recall my performance at the "Turkish New Years' Eve" party in Charlotte (at Rea Road), in 2010, where we all had huge fun. There were some problems with their sound system, but the experience was great. Many people danced with me at the end of the performance and they were very alive and enthusiastic. They had a great buffet and the dance floor was spacious and nice. I performed with several props and Choreographies (one of those was my favorite one: "Breaking the chains of slavery" with two veils). they loved it.
