Introduction: To be a successful DJ, you have to understand the musical tastes of the clients you are trying to attract. There are many DJs that try to be a one stop shop for all the different music genre. My path of focusing on Old School R&B, Hip/Hop, and Rap allows me to be more creative with the performance. I am a master at taking two songs and making a new one out of them. What I enjoy the most is the look on my clients and their guest face when they hear the songs that they are familiar with and suddenly realize that there is something really exciting happening with how I play them.

The Shark was the DJ for a reception my organization sponsored. He was ON TIME and professional. He was very instrumental in providing the right music to create the atmosphere we were looking for. He has a vast selection of music and he is very versatile/flexible. I would recommend him for any type event!

I wasn't aware that John was a DJ, as i met him while participating in a bowling league. Shortly after meeting him, he shared with me that he was a DJ and would be willing to DJ for the league on the same nights that bowl. I must say that his Dj'ing skills were amazing. John had the entire house rocking every Thursday and really kept the energy up as he played a great mix of old school and new school hits. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone.

"I am the Shark", DJ's for my companies employee resource group events. His music selection and djing skills always gets everyone up and dancing. His music gets everyone in the company to take a break from their busy schedules and enjoy the music and dancing. I definitely recommend this DJ at any and all parties!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really depends on the venue and the time required for my services. A typical quote request for my services is 4 hours at $300.00.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have an initial conversation with him/her to understand the event they are requesting my services for. Once we mutually decide on the music presentation that will bring the most enjoyment to them and their guest, we can move forward with the booking.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started DJing in the 80s so I have music that spans the time spectrum for R&B, Hip/Hop, and Rap from late 70s to present day. I am well educated and hold an MBA and a BSBA in Accounting so I know how to handle business and entertaining a crowd.
