About

18 years experience mediating hundreds of divorce cases. Am cross-culturally sensitive with Master's degree in Conflict Resolution and have completed advanced certification in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming )- a 2 year negotiations methodology. I enjoy the process of helping parties resolve their mutual issues. I appreciate the opportunity to help both sides to arrive at an agreement that "holds" after the mediation process has ended. I view mediation as an opportunity help two parties become more collaborative. Mediation offers the parties an opportunity to arrive at a resolution that reflects their best thinking, assisted by myself as the mediator who is neutral. Regarding how mediation can assist both parties to find a suitable resolution, my favorite quote originates in China and references the word "crisis" which is written with two brush strokes: The first brush stroke means "danger." The second brush stroke means " hidden opportunity."

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a certified divorce mediator (non attorney), my hourly rate is $175/ hour. There is no retainer and there is never a need to disclose personal information such as social security numbers or credit card numbers.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As a certified mediator (non attorney), I explain how mediation works, what makes a final mediation document legal or binding, the value of consulting with an attorney to review that final document before the parties sign it in front of a notary at their bank.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every year I complete continuing education training for mediators that meets the annual re-certification requirements of the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. I have a Master's degree in Conflict Resolution from Columbia College, Columbia SC (1997-1999)
