A. A personal assistant is a highly skilled professional with a strong administrative background. Personal assistant can work exclusively for a company or individuals or as an independent contractor. Independent PAs are business owners and work with several different clients at once.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How much time do they have to dedicate?
How many other clients are they working with?
Request references from previous clients?
If you have small children, request a background check that includes sex offender information.
If you required to sign a contract, inquire about the penalty is if you should have to end of contract early.
Request that they sign a confidentiality agreement.
